Former Okoth Obado and two co-accused will learn their fate in the high-profile Sharon Otieno murder case on May 29, 2026.

The accused include Obado, his former personal assistant Michael Oyamo, and county clerk Caspal Obiero. The ruling was confirmed on Wednesday by Lady Justice Cecilia Githua during a mention at the High Court of Kenya.

Justice Githua directed that all three accused must be physically present in court at 10:30 a.m. on the day the judgment is delivered.

The case centers on the September 2018 murder of Sharon Otieno, a university student who was pregnant at the time her body was discovered in a thicket in Migori County. The three suspects were also previously charged with the murder of her 28-week-old unborn baby, but were acquitted on that count due to insufficient evidence.

The forthcoming judgment is expected to bring closure to a case that has captured national attention due to its high-profile defendants and tragic circumstances.
