Hollywood icon Sylvester Stallone, famed for his role in the Rocky series, has put his La Quinta, California, residence on the market for $3.35 million approximately $1.15 million below what he paid for it a decade ago.
The Mediterranean- and Tuscan-inspired villa spans 4,889 square feet and features four bedrooms and five bathrooms, according to the listing with Josh Reef of Douglas Elliman. The two-story home, built in 2008, includes a double-height living room with a stone fireplace, a dining area opening onto a terrace, a kitchen with wood cabinetry and a wood-and-stone center island, a breakfast nook, and a dedicated wine room.
Stallone, 73, acquired the property in 2010 for $4.5 million through a trust, records indicate. The villa was initially listed in 2014 for $4.2 million and has periodically appeared on the market with varying prices before being withdrawn in 2016 at $3.625 million. According to listing agent Josh Reef, the home has been well-maintained and primarily served as a desert vacation retreat for Stallone and his family.
The villa’s design highlights include arched entryways, wood double doors, vaulted and beamed ceilings, and multiple fireplaces. Outdoors, the 0.45-acre property offers terraces, a pool and spa, a built-in firepit, and a unique burbling creek flowing through the backyard the largest lot of any villa in La Quinta, Reef noted.
A representative for Stallone confirmed he is selling the property but did not provide further comment.
