Four Arrested Over Killing of Former World Champion Boxer Zolani Tete

South African police have arrested four suspects in connection with the killing of former world boxing champion Zolani Tete, who was shot outside his home in Mdantsane, Eastern Cape.

Police said Tete was arriving at his residence last week and was waiting for the gate to open when he was ambushed by two armed men wearing balaclavas.

A woman who was inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting was also injured and remains in hospital.

Suspects Arrested

Police confirmed the arrests on Monday as investigations into the fatal shooting continue.

One of the suspects, who was arrested two days earlier, was expected to appear in court on Monday. The other three suspects are expected to be presented before court at a later date.

Authorities have not disclosed a possible motive for the killing, and investigations remain ongoing.
