Frenzy in Kisii as Mysterious ‘Virgin Mary’ Image Appears on Kitchen Wall

A quiet homestead in Getare Village, Bobasi Constituency, Kisii County, has been thrown into a massive frenzy after a mysterious image resembling the Virgin Mary was spotted on a mud-walled kitchen.

What began as an ordinary rural kitchen frequently filled with smoke from traditional cooking fires has quickly transformed into a heavily visited site, drawing hundreds of curious villagers, worshippers, and preachers from neighboring regions.

How It All Began

According to homeowner Charles Onsombi, whose wife was the first to notice the unusual shadow, the buzz started when photos of the wall began circulating online. However, Onsombi admitted that the images spreading across social media do not quite match what is physically visible inside his compound.

Due to the overwhelming crowds swarming his homestead, Onsombi noted that he hasn't even had a proper moment to examine the wall himself.

"When people started coming, taking photos and whatever, what I can see on the internet is not exactly what’s here," Onsombi shared during an interview.

A Divided Crowd: Faith vs. Skepticism

The strange phenomenon has left visitors sharply divided. While many worshippers drop to their knees in prayer, claiming they can clearly see the face of the mother of Jesus, others stand before the wall seeing nothing out of the ordinary.

For true believers, witnessing the image is strictly a test of faith. One fervent visitor argued against authorities attempting to restrict access to the compound, stating:

"This is the mother of Jesus who has come here... Those who cannot see it simply lack faith."

Calls for a Sanctuary and Security Challenges

As the crowds continue to swell, fervent visitors have begun calling for a church to be built on the property, arguing that the location holds profound spiritual significance and should be preserved as a designated place of prayer.

However, the influx of thousands of visitors has posed major logistical and security challenges for the family and local administration. Law enforcement officers have had to step in to manage the swelling crowds and restore order as the Bobasi "miracle" wall continues to capture national attention.
