Ruto Presides Over Passing-Out Parade of New GSU Recruits in Nairobi

NAIROBI, Kenya — President William Ruto is presiding over the passing-out parade of newly trained General Service Unit (GSU) recruits at the National Police College, Embakasi ‘B’ Campus, Nairobi.

The ceremony marks the completion of an intensive training programme for the recruits, who are now set to join the National Police Service and take up assignments in different parts of the country.

The passing-out parade is a key milestone in the recruits’ transition from training to operational deployment, following weeks of physical, tactical and specialised instruction.

Recruits complete specialised GSU training

The recruits recently completed their training at the GSU’s Magadi Field Campus in Kajiado County, where they underwent rigorous preparation designed to equip them for service in different operational environments.

The programme included physical conditioning, tactical instruction and other specialised areas relevant to their duties within the National Police Service.

During the course closure ceremony at Magadi, Deputy Inspector General of Police Eliud Lagat urged the recruits to remain prepared to serve wherever they are deployed.

Lagat told the trainees that their assignments could expose them to varying circumstances and environments, requiring discipline, preparedness and commitment to their responsibilities.

Ruto also opens SHA facility

The passing-out parade comes after President Ruto earlier presided over the opening of the Social Health Authority (SHA) Block at the GSU Embakasi Health Centre in Nairobi.

The health facility forms part of the day's presidential programme, bringing together public security and health-sector activities at the GSU Embakasi complex.

The completion of the recruits’ training and their subsequent deployment will add newly trained personnel to the National Police Service as they begin their assignments across the country.

The ceremony at Embakasi is expected to formally mark the recruits’ transition into active service and underscore the importance of continued training and preparedness within Kenya’s specialised police units.
