A cross-continental musical collaboration is set to bring together British electronic artist Skyla Tylaa, Kenyan singer Sofiya Nzau, American R&B star Chloë Bailey and Deepa for a new single titled “Makuhia,” scheduled for release on August 28, 2026.

The collaboration brings together artists from different musical backgrounds, combining British amapiano and house influences with contemporary R&B and traditional East African vocal styles.

“Makuhia” is positioned as a meeting point between global electronic music and Kenyan musical heritage, with the artists seeking to introduce distinctive East African sounds to a wider international audience.

A Fusion of Global Sounds

Skyla Tylaa brings her experience in the UK electronic music scene to the project. The artist has built a reputation for combining Caribbean-inspired rhythms with South African amapiano and deep-house textures, helping bring African-influenced club sounds to international audiences.

Her contribution provides the track with an electronic foundation while allowing the other artists to introduce their own cultural and musical influences.

Kenyan vocalist Sofiya Nzau adds a distinctly East African identity to the collaboration. Nzau gained international recognition through her vocal performance on “Mwaki,” the global hit created with Brazilian DJ and producer Zerb.
