Three Siblings Testify Against Father in Eldoret Child Sexual Abuse Case

ELDORET, Kenya — An Eldoret court heard harrowing testimony on Monday from three siblings aged 7, 9 and 11 who are accusing their biological father of sexually abusing them.

The children testified before Eldoret Senior Resident Magistrate Daniel Sitati at the Eldoret Law Courts as the court continued hearing the case against the accused.

The suspect, Daniel Odunga, a former pastor with the Kenya Assemblies of God (KAG) Church in Vihiga, faces three counts of defilement and an additional charge of committing an indecent act with a child under Kenya's Sexual Offences Act No. 3 of 2006.

Alleged Abuse Reported to Teacher

According to the prosecution, the alleged offences occurred on different dates in June 2026 at Kapsit Village in Kesses Sub-County, Uasin Gishu County.

The case reportedly came to light after one of the children disclosed the alleged abuse to a teacher. The teacher subsequently alerted colleagues before the matter was reported to police.

Odunga was arrested and taken to Naiberi Police Station.

The accused has denied all the charges.

Children Placed Under Protection

The court declined to release Odunga on bond, and he remains in custody at Eldoret GK Remand Prison as the case proceeds.

For the protection and welfare of the children, the court ordered that two of the alleged victims be placed under the care of a rescue centre in Eldoret.

The court has also scheduled the matter for further hearing on September 24, 2026.

The allegations remain before the court, and the accused is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
