Trump Reportedly Gave White House Aides $45,000 Cash Gifts

WASHINGTON, D.C. — US President Donald Trump gave three White House employees cash gifts of $45,000 each, according to US media reports citing financial disclosure documents.

Trump's executive assistant Natalie Harp, White House official Margo Martin and staff member Chamberlain Harris each reported receiving the payments, which were described as “Cash Gift for Holidays,” The Washington Post reported on Tuesday.

The disclosures have drawn attention because of the size of the gifts and the recipients' roles within the White House.

Natalie Harp Receives $45,000 Gift

Harp has become a prominent figure around Trump during his second term, frequently accompanying the President during official engagements.

She has been nicknamed the “human printer” because of her role carrying a portable printer used to produce documents requested by Trump.

Harp is also among the officials with direct access to Trump's Truth Social account, according to footage from a 2024 election campaign documentary. She has been shown typing posts as Trump dictates them, including reproducing his distinctive use of capital letters.

The 35-year-old serves as a special assistant and executive assistant to the President and earns an annual salary of approximately $150,000, according to an annual report submitted to Congress.

Other White House Staff Also Report Gifts

Martin and Harris also reported receiving $45,000 cash gifts from Trump, according to financial disclosure forms cited by The Washington Post.

The documents described the payments as holiday gifts rather than compensation connected to the recipients' official duties.

White House officials defended the payments, saying Trump has a longstanding practice of giving Christmas gifts to people within his circle, including employees and aides.

A White House spokesperson said the gifts were unrelated to the recipients' official responsibilities and were therefore permissible under applicable legal and ethical standards.

Walt Nauta Reports $20,000 Gift

The disclosures also showed that Walt Nauta, who serves as director of White House Oval Office operations, reported receiving a $20,000 presidential gift.

Nauta earns an annual salary of approximately $175,000, according to the report cited by The Washington Post.

The reported gifts come amid continued scrutiny of the financial disclosures of senior White House officials and the personal relationships between Trump and members of his administration.

The White House maintains that the payments were personal holiday gifts and were not connected to the recipients' government duties.

The disclosures provide a public record of the reported gifts while raising broader questions about the value and treatment of personal gifts involving government employees.
