Christian Foundation Fellowship (CFF) head preacher Bishop Michael Wanderi has paid tribute to gospel singer Betty Bayo, reflecting on her influential preaching and vibrant ministry following her passing on Monday, November 10, 2025.
Betty Bayo, known for hits such as Busy Busy and 11th Hour, was a devoted member of Wanderi’s church in Kiambu Town. In a TikTok video shared on Saturday, November 15, 2025, Bishop Wanderi highlighted the electrifying energy and spiritual impact of Betty’s sermons, which often opened with her signature songs.
“Betty Bayo’s ministration at CFF Kiambu Town and His Grace Prayer Mission was always powerful and inspiring,” Wanderi wrote. The shared video featured edited clips from at least 15 of her past sermons, showcasing her passionate delivery, heartfelt singing, and unwavering dedication to spreading the gospel.
In her sermons, Betty encouraged congregants to speak favor into their lives and testified to God’s guidance in her journey as both a singer and minister. In one poignant moment, she introduced gospel singer and preacher Evelyne Wanjiru to the congregation, sharing how Evelyne’s pioneering live recordings inspired her own musical ministry.
“The fact that Evelyne was the first Kenyan musician to do live music, and how she shared her journey with me when I struggled, encouraged me to continue. I promised myself that one day I would also succeed,” Betty is heard saying in the video.
Memorial Service Announcement
Bishop Wanderi confirmed that Betty Bayo’s memorial service will be held at Christian Foundation Fellowship in Kiambu Town on Sunday, November 16, 2025, starting at 2 p.m. He invited Kenyans to join the service in mourning and celebrating Betty’s legacy as both a gospel singer and devoted Christian.
“I welcome all Kenyans to join us for the memorial service. We are coming together to grieve, honor, and celebrate Betty Bayo’s contributions to gospel music and the church,” he said during a press conference with Betty’s family and the burial committee on Friday, November 14, 2025.
Wanderi emphasized that Betty’s role in the church extended beyond worship, noting her active participation in ministering and uplifting others. He reflected on the suddenness of her passing and the profound impact it has had nationwide.
“Even if you listen, the world is silent, and there is immense grief because of her passing. She did not fall ill for long, and her sudden death has left the entire nation in mourning,” the preacher said.
