Comedian and philanthropist Eric Omondi has opened up about the physical impact of his grueling walk from Nairobi to Mombasa, a journey covering 486 kilometres that stretched his body to the limit.

The Toll of the Journey

Although Omondi did not walk the entire distance, the harsh weather conditions left noticeable effects. In a video posted on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, he revealed that he had lost significant weight over the four-day trek and experienced changes in his skin tone due to prolonged exposure to the sun.

He humorously compared the difference in his complexion to two nationalities:

“Sasa unaona venye nakaa saa hizi, yaani hapa mimi ni Mrussia, na hapa mimi ni Mkenya,” Omondi said, pointing to the lighter skin under his vest and the darker, sunburned areas.

The comedian admitted that he ignored advice from fellow celebrity Murugi Munyi, who had urged him to apply sunscreen at the start of the journey.

No Regrets for a Worthy Cause

Despite the physical strain, Omondi insisted he had no regrets, emphasizing that the walk was for a worthy cause raising funds for the construction of a rescue centre.

“First of all, nimekonda wasee… I lost weight in four and a half days,” he said, noting how his body had changed compared to his gym-trained physique before the walk.

Celebrity Support

Omondi expressed gratitude to well-wishers and celebrities who joined him along the way, including Khaligraph Jones, Churchill, Amber Ray, Daddy Owen, Carol Radull, Jeff Koinange, Eko Dyda, Butita, Iyanii, Murugi Munyi, and others. He also thanked supporters from Team Sisi Kwa Sisi and those who contributed financially by “buying kilometres.”

He appealed for continued support to ensure the rescue centre project is completed, highlighting that construction has already begun thanks to the initiative.

Conclusion

Eric Omondi’s Nairobi–Mombasa walk showcased not only his resilience but also the power of collective action in driving social change. While the journey left him physically transformed, his commitment to philanthropy and community upliftment remains unwavering.
