A foreign national has been arrested in Nairobi in connection with suspected drug trafficking following a targeted police operation in the Sana Sana area of South B.

According to the National Police Service (NPS), officers acted on a tip-off and apprehended the suspect inside an apartment believed to have been used as a storage and distribution hub for illegal narcotics.

During a search of the residence, police recovered 316 rolls and 105 sachets of suspected cannabis, each weighing approximately 1.5 grams. Officers also found several sachets containing a white powdery substance suspected to be a narcotic drug, which has been forwarded for forensic analysis to establish its exact composition.

In addition, 34 sachets of rolling papers and foreign currency in various denominations, believed to be proceeds from the illicit trade, were seized during the operation.

“In addition to the suspected cannabis, several sachets containing a white powdery substance suspected to be a narcotic drug were recovered and are pending forensic analysis,” the NPS said in a statement.

The suspect was taken into custody, while all recovered items were secured as exhibits to support ongoing investigations. Authorities said further inquiries are underway to establish the full scope of the alleged drug trafficking network operating within Nairobi County.

The National Police Service reiterated its commitment to combating drug-related crimes and urged members of the public to continue sharing information that may assist law enforcement efforts.
