Police have named Mason Miller, a 20-year-old man, as the victim of a fatal stabbing at a skate park in Northampton on Wednesday afternoon. A 17-year-old boy also suffered life-threatening injuries in the attack and remains in hospital.

Murder Investigation Launched

The incident occurred at around 3:30 p.m. at the skate park in Ringway, Briar Hill. Northamptonshire Police confirmed that a murder investigation is underway into Miller’s death.

As part of the wider probe, two 15-year-old boys and a 14-year-old youth appeared before Northampton Magistrates Court on Saturday, charged with violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon. They were granted conditional bail and placed into the care of the local authority.

Police Response

Northamptonshire Police said dozens of detectives, officers, and staff have been conducting house-to-house enquiries in the area. An increased police presence, including high-visibility patrols, has been deployed to reassure the community.

Detective Inspector Matt Bly, the senior investigating officer, described the case as a “fast-moving investigation” with multiple lines of inquiry.

“This remains a murder investigation, and our thoughts first and foremost remain with Mason’s family at this difficult time,” Bly said. “The family is understandably still trying to come to terms with Wednesday’s tragic events and has asked for complete privacy.”

He urged members of the public to come forward with any information, including CCTV, doorbell, or mobile phone footage, to assist detectives.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact Northamptonshire Police immediately.
