At least six people have lost their lives in a tragic road accident along the Itangini-Tawa road in Ngoluni, Mbooni East Sub-County, Makueni County.
According to Mbooni East Sub-County Commander Iphrahim Karani, the crash occurred when a lorry traveling at high speed toward Tawa lost control and collided with a 14-seater public service vehicle (PSV) at the stage.
Five victims died at the scene, while a sixth succumbed to injuries en route to the hospital. Eleven others sustained injuries and were transported to Makueni Sub-County Hospital and nearby medical facilities for treatment.
Among the deceased was a student returning home after completing the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
