Three people have died and three others were injured after a bus collided with a bus stop in central Stockholm, Swedish police reported. The crash occurred on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 15:23 local time (14:23 GMT) on Valhallavägen street, near the Royal Institute of Technology.

Authorities have arrested the bus driver, who now faces charges of causing death and bodily harm. Police emphasized that there is currently no indication that the incident was deliberate. Investigators are working to confirm the identities of the victims, and it remains unclear whether there were passengers on the bus.

Eyewitnesses described chaotic scenes as the bus struck the shelter. One shop owner told SVT that the vehicle hit a pole in front of the bus stop, with several people running into the shop in distress. A woman speaking to Expressen said the bus “mowed down an entire bus stop queue,” noting that people were screaming and trying to assist the injured, while others lay lifeless on the ground.

Images from the scene showed rescue teams helping individuals trapped under the double-decker bus.

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson extended his condolences to the victims and their families, writing on X: “People who might have been on their way home to family, friends, or a quiet evening at home. We do not yet know the cause, but right now my thoughts are primarily with those affected and their loved ones.”
