“I am doing well, but I also wonder whether you usually remove this helmet. I hear even while sleeping you have it on. Even when you are with your wife, it is still on,” Babu remarked.

Brayo admitted that he rarely removes the helmet, adding that his wife had become accustomed to seeing him wearing it.

“Yes, I seldom remove the helmet. Even my wife is used to it, haha,” he responded.

Brayo Explains the Message Behind His Helmet

Brayo explained that his decision to keep the helmet on is part of a broader road safety campaign aimed at encouraging boda boda riders to embrace protective gear.

He said he had made a personal promise to remove the helmet once all boda boda riders began wearing helmets for their safety.

“But I said I will remove it when all boda boda riders start wearing helmets for safety. It is a safety thing I am pushing,” Brayo said.

The biker expressed concern over the number of motorcycle-related accidents in which riders and passengers suffer serious injuries or lose their lives.

“Because I do not love how people are getting accidents and then dying because of not wearing helmets,” he added.

Through his distinctive appearance and online content, Brayo has used his platform to draw attention to safer riding practices and the importance of protective equipment.

Babu Supports Road Safety Advocacy

“You see, even if you look at the statistics of how many people are dying here in Kenya because of boda boda accidents, it is very high,” Babu said.

He added that failing to wear a helmet can worsen the injuries sustained during an accident.

“And mostly it is because if you do not have a helmet, the injuries you get after such an accident are much worse,” he explained.

The MP then commended Brayo for using his popularity to promote road safety.

“You are doing an amazing job. I personally love you. I see how you are pushing for road safety. That is good, as those are some of the things we are pushing for ourselves,” Babu said.

Brayo Appeals for Support for Boda Boda Riders

The meeting also provided an opportunity for Brayo to raise concerns about the welfare and livelihoods of boda boda riders.

Turning to Babu’s political ambitions, Brayo asked the legislator to remember the motorcycle taxi community if he succeeds in his bid to become Nairobi governor in the 2027 General Election.

“And also when you get the governorship, help my people, the boda boda riders, so they can also move ahead in life so we can also have rules that favour us,” Brayo said.
