TABUK, Saudi Arabia — Flydubai has urged the public to avoid premature conclusions about the events aboard flight FZ1073, saying the reasons and motives behind a cockpit altercation remain unknown and are subject to a formal investigation.

The Dubai-to-Tel Aviv flight was diverted to Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday after an incident occurred in the flight deck. Flydubai said the aircraft was secured by other flydubai crew members travelling on board and landed safely, with all passengers and crew accounted for.

In a statement, the airline said its immediate priority was the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved while it supports the official investigation.
