George Itumo to Headline ANZA MMA Pro Nights 3 in Nairobi

NAIROBI, KENYA — Kenyan bantamweight star George Itumo will headline ANZA MMA Pro Nights 3 on September 19 as mixed martial arts talent from six African countries converges at Village Market for an international showcase.

The highly anticipated event will feature fighters from Kenya, Angola, Uganda, Tanzania, Madagascar and South Sudan, with eight bouts scheduled across the main and preliminary cards.

The promotion continues to position Nairobi as one of the region’s emerging centres for mixed martial arts, bringing together elite competition, entertainment and a growing combat-sports audience.

Itumo Seeks Redemption Against Angolan Opponent

At the centre of the event will be George Itumo, who takes on Angola’s Jorge Correia in a crucial bantamweight contest.

Itumo will look to make the most of home support while seeking redemption against Angolan opposition. The Kenyan suffered the only defeat of his professional career against a fighter from Angola, giving the upcoming bout added significance.

A victory would strengthen Itumo’s standing while providing an opportunity to respond to the setback against Southern African competition.

Munyi and Odongo Return to Main Card

Kenyan fan favourites Brian Munyi and Kevin Odongo will also feature on the main card after impressive performances at ANZA Pro 002.

Munyi established himself as one of the promotion’s emerging prospects after delivering a spectacular knockout that earned him the KO of the Night award.

He will now face Uganda’s Cyplian Katumba in a featherweight encounter.
