Veteran Nollywood Actor Pete Edochie Opens Up About Health Challenges During Visit to Emmanuel Armah

Veteran Nollywood actor Chief Pete Edochie has spoken publicly about his health challenges during an emotional visit to Ghanaian actor Emmanuel Armah in Accra.

Edochie, 79, made the disclosure on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, while visiting Armah, a longtime friend and fellow actor who has faced serious health challenges for several years.

During the meeting, Edochie said he was also dealing with physical difficulties, particularly when walking.

“Walking is a problem for me now, but I still have hope that I will recover,” he said.

The actor also said he sometimes experiences swelling in different parts of his body, noting that the swelling can later subside.

Edochie Remains Hopeful

Despite describing his current physical difficulties, Edochie expressed hope that his condition would improve.

The veteran actor also spoke about his desire to maintain his dignity as he grows older and his concern about becoming a burden to those around him.

His comments came during a deeply personal conversation with Armah, whom he had travelled to see during his activities in Ghana.

Edochie Encourages Emmanuel Armah

While discussing his own health, Edochie also offered encouragement to Emmanuel Armah and expressed hope for his recovery.

Armah has been dealing with significant health challenges for several years and has largely stayed away from acting.

Reports about his condition indicate that he continues to receive care and physiotherapy in Ghana. His wife and caregiver have previously spoken about the challenges involved in supporting his recovery.

During the visit, Edochie prayed for Armah and provided financial assistance toward his care.
